Does Laser Fat Removal Actually Work?

Does Laser Fat Removal Actually Work?

Laser fat removal may sound too good to be true, but there’s actually a lot of science behind it. And still, it’s not a “magic solution” for weight control. Rather than help you lose weight, it does away with stubborn, bothersome fat pockets that stick around even when you exercise and eat a healthy diet.

At Melissa Grier, MD Women’s Healthcare in Pasadena, California, Dr. Grier, and her team offer noninvasive laser fat reduction treatments using the Venus Bliss machine to help you achieve a slimmer and better toned silhouette.

Read on to learn more about laser fat removal, including how it may help you reach your aesthetic goals.

Laser fat removal basics

Laser fat reduction uses targeted radiofrequency energy to heat fat cells in the treatment area. This heat damages the cells, leading your body to flush them out with other waste products. And because destroyed fat cells never return, the results are permanent.

Venus Bliss targets fat in common trouble areas: your abdomen and flanks. And it works best if your body weight falls within a healthy range and you lead a healthy lifestyle. Most of our patients receive a series of six-weeks-apart treatments.

During your 25-minute session, you recline comfortably on a treatment table. You’ll also wear goggles to protect your eyes. From there, Dr. Grier will move the applicator over your abdomen or sides as it transmits laser energy. Between periods of heat, Venus Bliss provides coolness to help keep you comfortable throughout your treatment.

Good candidates for laser fat removal

If you’re in good overall health and want to create a slimmer physique, you may be a great candidate for laser fat removal. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or have an open wound, you’ll need to wait to have your treatment. You may not be approved for laser fat removal if you have an immunodeficiency disorder, a blood clotting disorder, or neuropathy.

Venus Bliss laser fat removal results

While Venus Bliss results vary, many people notice optimal results within 3-6 months of their recommended treatment plan. In one study, 75% of participants reported being satisfied with their results and said they would recommend the treatment to a friend. And up to 90% of recipients report finding Venus Bliss treatment comfortable.

As your body gradually flushes out fat following your treatment, your abdomen or flanks will look more toned and you can expect to lose inches from your waist. Your skin will appear smoother and tighter. We also find that cellulite becomes less visible.
